Graduation Celebration

Monday, June 14th, 2010

graduation

There are perhaps three pivotal moments in a young person’s life. The day they receive their Florida driver’s license and when they make the transition from a student to high school or college graduate. These events represent pride and self-worth, and bring them closer to their eventual independence and adulthood.

.

Parents experience a sense of relief and accomplishment also, though most likely for different reasons than that of their graduate. However, graduation celebration is a high priority for both, and there are many ways in which families can celebrate this momentous day.

.

Graduation celebrations in Tampa Bay, Ft. Myers and Sarasota can be amazing. Many Floridian graduates opt to head out in style in a limo. A popular choice in the limo line is the Hummer limo and loading up 20 friends to go turn that tassel together strikes the perfect chord of fun and excitement. You and your fellow graduates, friends, or family can enjoy stereo surround sound and iPod, TV, DVD hookup, and even rock graduation day with the Karaoke system that comes with the limousine experience.

.

After graduation, why not explore Sarasota’s marina and watch the dolphins at play, or go see the Jungle Gardens. Spread out on a ten-acre park, this tropical paradise is home to swaying palm trees, bubbling springs, exotic birds, alligators and huge snakes. In addition, they have nightly animal shows, shops and cafes.
Located on the Caloosahatchee River, a “must see” is Fort Myers, also known as The City of Palms. The natural beauty and tropical climate, combined with a vast array of downtown shopping, is the perfect way to experience the flavor of old Florida.

.

The pampered feeling that riding in a limo has never faded with time. For years, only the wealthy among us could afford this luxury, but these days, a Hummer Limo is an affordable extravagance that can make any graduate feel like Hollywood royalty.

There are many different ways you can honor these heroes in the Tampa Bay Area.

Consider visiting the Spanish-American War Memorial at Myrtle Hill Cemetery. During the war, Tampa was used as a port for soldiers; as many as 30,000 soldiers passed through Tampa on their way to Cuba. There are approximately 100 warriors buried in this cemetery; consider bringing some American flags to decorate the site.

.

St. Petersburg, Florida
World War II is often known as Hitler’s War. Hundreds of thousands of American soldiers died during this war. The Florida Holocaust Museum is located in St. Petersburg, Florida on 5th Street. The museum offers a history of the Holocaust including the events that happened during World War II and the American involvement in the war.

.

Sarasota, Florida
If you prefer water over land, consider visiting the Sarasota/Venice coast where The Bayronto sank. This was a British freighter that had been torpedoed by the Germans. The ship was traveling from Texas with grain for the soldiers. The vessel is now a diving site filled with a tropical paradise.
